All visitors to Bhutan except
for Indians, require a visa. All visas are issued from Thimphu.
A visa clearance has to be obtained before departing for Bhutan.
Visas are issued only when you arrive in the country, either
at Paro airport or (if by road) at Phuentsholing. Visa details
have to be sent a month prior to arrival.
Kiga will be providing you with the visa forms in which you
need to fill in the required information or you can visit
our website and fill in the forms provided for you. We also
need you to send us a Xerox copy of your passport along with
the visa fee of US$20.
Your visa clearance will be faxed to you.
The actual visa will be issued and stamped on the passport
on arrival. You are also advised to bring along two passport
photographs which you need to present on arrival to the Visa
Officer at the point of entry.
Visas are granted for a 15 day period. Extensions
can be obtained in Thimphu at a cost of $15. After we receive
all the details, Kiga will be making all the necessary arrangements.
